2019 Diversity & Inclusion Awards
The Council for Inclusion in Financial Services (CIFS) believes that those who work diligently to make the case for inclusion are deserving of recognition by their colleagues. The CIFS Diversity & Inclusion Awards recognizes individuals and organizations who take action to promote the benefits of inclusion through education, technology, advocacy, industry outreach and philanthropy. Recipients have not only impacted the Financial Services Industry but also the community at large by proving that there is Power in Inclusion.
Ron Machen, former US Attorney for the District of Columbia
A graduate of both Stanford and Harvard Law School, Ron Machen has a long list of achievements. He is a member of WilmerHale’s global Management Committee and co-chair of the White Collar Defense and Investigations Practice and has tried more than 35 cases to verdict. President Obama appointed him a US Attorney for the District of Columbia (the nation’s largest United States Attorney’s Office) where he served the longest tenure in 35 years. In 2008, the National Law Journal named him one of the “50 Most Influential Minority Lawyers in America.” He and his firm WilmerHale also became recipients of the Tom Sager Award in 2009, an award presented to large law firms that champion a more diverse and inclusive workforce and have demonstrated a sustained commitment to improving hiring, retention, and promotion of diverse attorneys.
